Up for your consideration is an Antique Folk Art Walnut Hanging Spice Box with hand carved geometric designs made in the early 1800's. Description - This walnut spice box is about 12 inches tall to its highest point, 14 inches wide, and about 8 inches deep. It is missing a wooden separator in the top section as shown in picture #6. There has been a repair to the part that holds the wooden hinge to the top lid shown in picture #3. It must have broken off at some point in time then glued back in place. There's a piece missing from the side of the drawer shown in pictures #9 and #12.

There are the initials "A B" carved into the top lid shown in picture #4. As you can see in the pictures provided this spice box has four small intricate hand carved designs on the front and two large hand carved designs on each side of this spice box. The lid is made of cedar, and the bottom piece is made of pine.

This walnut spice box was made in the Northeastern United States. Possibly Pennsylvania, but more likely New England.
