It is signed and dated in red colored paint on the base. The carving shows details of the eyes, the head, comb, wattle, beak, the tail, and feet. It is very well done and shows the marks of the tool used to carve it throughout.

The base measures 3 1/4" by 2" and the piece weighs a bit over four ounces. Marks: Marked in red coloring on the back of the base JB 93.
