Adrien Arpin (1920 - 2016) - Flying Duck Woodcarving - St Jean Port Joli - Folk Art Canada MCM. Adrien Arpin (1920 - 2016) - Sculptor - Woodcarver - St Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada - Active mid-20th century. Adrien Arpin (1920 - 2016) made a variety of painted wood carvings in the flat-plane tradition of the artists in St. Especially carvings of people but also carvings of kitchen items such as wall boxes for matches and salt and napkin rings etc.
His earlier work was always painted but into the 1950's he began making unpainted figural carvings and kitchen ware. He signed with a chisel or with a stamp in black ink. Very nice flying Duck mounted on Burlap back board. Not dated from what I know made somtime in the 1950's when he was most active. I believe in WYSIWYG - what you see is what you will get.
