Original SIgned Folk Art Carving of Maine Whaler Whirligig 1919. From the estate of a collector on the Maine coast, this is a another great little wood folk carving. The Sailer or Whaler has a great painted face with a carved nose, hat, black boots, and early traditional clothes of a whaler - wonderful colorful paint decoration. Great folk art work and display piece. Under his black hat he has long black hair on the back that looks like it came from a paint brush.

The sailor/whaler paddles are firmly attached and can be positioned at different angles. The Great little Sailor Whirlygig is mounted on a small wood base. On the bottom of the base it says "carved by Adolph Haugh, 1919". The Antique Whaler Whirlygig measures 12.5" tall, 14" tall to top of paddle.
