Antique Vtg WWI Folk Art Carved Wooden Eagle AMERICA 1917 LIBERTY 1918 FRANCE

  

The wood appears to be basswood. 4.75 tall and and the width across the wings is app. 5.5 The carved did a wonderful job with excellent detailing and in giving the Eagle a fierce appearance. My guess is that the carver obviously made the work in honor of service during the War to End All Wars that was WWI.
