AMAZING FOLK ART WOODEN TRUNK "MOTHER SEPT'43" CARVED HEARTS & LINED INTERIOR. If you are a Folk Art collector or dealer, then here is an amazing handmade wooden trunk or keepsake box with handles on each end. The top has wonderful carved wooden hearts with a diamond motif in between dedicated to the guys mother and dated September of 1943 on the two outer diamond shapes on the lid.

I happen to love the dark notched areas seen under the two carved heart shapes, a technique seen done during this era of Folk Art. The trunk is nicely hinged and has a hasp in place for the box to be locked. The interior is nicely lined with maroon colored fabric or carpet type material seen used during this time period. I guarantee you will fall in love with handmade piece of Folk Art. These are highly collectable by many Primitive, Folk, Tramp and Prison art collectors. The overall dimensions of are approximately 10 1/2 inches tall, 8 3/4 inches deep by 23 inches long with the handles. Other than some basic years of dust on the interior, this item is in outstanding antique condition and solidly made. The trunk hinges are tight and there is a chain to hold the lid securely open.
