Century German Folk art Carved Birds. We are proud to offer a rare collection of 4 German 19. Century folk art hand carved / painted birds, perched on their original fungus bases. The group include 2 goldfinches, 1 chaffinch and a scarce crested tit, totally untouched in form and recently uncovered from a private collection in Germany. The paint and patination across these examples is amazing, filled with character and a very decorative appeal.

H 9 x W 5 x D 3 to H 4 x W 4 x D 3.5. Aged surface through wear and tear is present across these item, fading of the surface is present in sections as shown in the photos provided, light weathering, natural crackling across the paint but still firm again the carved wood, Small details missing on each bird, beak tip on one, aged rust across the wire legs, the original fungus bases are firm but fragile as you would expect for an item thats over 150 years old. Each base has its original hanging hook still in place, The base that these birds are photographed on is available however these item should be considered for wall display as originally displayed.
