Folk Art Wood Carving Birds, Pair Burl Wood

  
This unusual pair resembles a pair of toukans, or other shore birds. The birds each have a body made of a burl wood knot, smooth on one side and open and knotty on the other with one branch serving as the head, beak and neck. The legs are sturdy pieces of wood fastened through the base. The overall effect is very charming and quite striking. Put these on the mantle in your log cabin for an instant conversation piece. Unfortunately, the pieces are not signed, but they are well made and stable. There are no defects that I have noticed. Measurements are: 4" by 3 3/4" and 15 tall.
