Antique Folk Art Carved Wood Sculpture of Santo Nino de Atocha, Spanish Colonial
Very rare Spanish Colonial sculpture of Santo Nino de Atocha. Likely created in Upper Peru (modern-day Bolivia), early 19th century. Approximately 16 inches tall at highest point of chair. Condition: Overall good, commensurate with age. Noticeable damage to hands, areas of paint loss - common with santos and Latin American relics of this era. Hat and staff are removable; one foliate chair leg is detached and would benefit from glue or stabilization, as would other areas of the sculpture.
