The man is nicely carved and is 8 from his boots to the top of his hat. Hall showed me his little backyard workshop shed where he worked with simple hand tools to make his wind machines. NOTICE how when the wind moves the propeller (he has added thin metal and curved it to get more of the wind), it is attached to a metal shaft which then is bent so it goes in a rotation and Mr. Hall designed the chopper so that his upper body pivots up and down thereby "chopping his wood with his ax".
This American folk art whirligig is in mild weathered condition but that is part of the charm. It works perfectly and has no issues.
