Mid-20th c vintage romanticized depictions of Polynesian (Tiki) tribal culture & hand carved & hand painted wooden totems. Pole overall height: 55 1/2 Height.Pole width: 4 1/2 Width. Base measurements: 10 1/2" Width x 7 1/2" Depth. Recently discovered on the South Shore of MA, south of Boston, near the entrance to Cape Cod is this incredible, hand carved & hand painted Victorian turned wooden porch post turned into a mid-20th c Polynesian romanticized figurative totem, with four (4) faces carved into the wooden porch post, featuring attached horns (ears) & nose. The paint on the front, most important bas-relief carved face is hand painted, w/striking, vibrant colors while the remaining three (3) carved faces were left unpainted.
W/tremendous presence for your next Tiki pool party or for display in your home. Untouched & undisturbed not even dusted off.
The end of the attached wooden nose has some minor material loss at the very end of it. One of the ears also has some minor material loss from what presumably was a previous fall. Both episodes are minor & don't interfere w/viewing the hand carved & hand painted totem in its totality, without any visual distractions.
