Phillip E Brown (1955-2011) Carved Cardinal Bird on Driftwood Folk Art Sculpture

  

Carved and painted red cardinal on driftwood. Brown lived in Buncombe County most of his life and worked as a self-taught carver for over 40 years.

He was a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild. His carvings are sought after by collectors. This awesome piece is 9.5" long overall; 4.25" high. The birds have glass eyes. Bird can swivel on his perched position. Sculpture is signed and dated on bottom.
