Black Forest Wood Carving Night Watchman Lantern Lance Vintage 8 1/2 Folk Art. This is a vintage Black Forest style hand carved wood figure that is a Night Watchman. The figure is well detailed and pegged into a base which also serves as a pin dish or ashtray. The dish is solid brass (3 1/4 diameter). The item measures 9 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 8 1/2. The figure alone is 8 1/2 tall. There are pegs in the feet to secure into base. The figure holds a swinging lantern with candle and a long lance. He has a calling horn around his neck to sound the alarm! The lance is removeable from the hand.

The figure is hand painted. There is some paint loss on the base sides.
