Antique Dancing Jig Figure Wood Carving Folk Art Ca 1930 Tall w Stand

  

For sale is an antique carved wood dancing dan / dancing jig figure. These were toys that you made dance via a stick on the back. It has the 3 holes on the back for the stick.

Stick is long gone however. These are often mounted and displayed as folk art figures. It comes with a modern custom made stand. It has some old paint remenants on the side of the hat. Never had arms (these figures often did not have arms).

Has some holes in the bottom of the feet as well. Comes from a long time NW Ohio Collection. Not sure where it originated from but looks American.

Dates to around the 1930s or 40s. Figure is 15 inches tall.

Taller when mounted on the custom stand but its 15 inches tall by itself. Missing part of the brim on his hat. However its the back of the hat so its less distracting.
