Into bees wax and tree resin that is coated onto the hand sculpted wood piece underneath. Each strand of yarn or thread is laid down by hand to make the pattern. Extremely difficult and meticulous work!!

The Huichol or Wixáritari[1] are an indigenous people of Mexico living in the Sierra Madre Occidental range in the states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Durango.
