Antique Mexican Carved Wood Nicho Altar with Angel 22 Folk Art Mexico

PLEASE READ'CONDITION' AT BOTTOM OF LISTING. An essential part of the soul of a Mexican home, a nicho can be used as a shrine or altar or to display santos, incense burners, candles, photos, keepsakes, etc. This interesting old nicho features hand carved sides and top and a chubby cheeked winged angel at the bottom. The piece has been painted in blue-green, ochre and black accented with (gold) gilt. Dimensions: 22-1/2" H X 10" w x 4" D - recessed area is 13-1/2" H. CONDITION: previously owned old piece, no major structural damage however there are many areas (that show up as white in the photos) where paint has chipped off.

Most of these areas could be touched up, or leave as it is for a more authentic look. Please scroll through all photos.
