Antique Folk Art Toy Dancing Man Balancing Figure c. 1920s Hand Carved AAFA

Toy "Dance - ing - Man" / carved & painted wood / c. Antique handmade toy of a carved wooden figure with a barbell-like balancing weight, c. Positioned just so, the figure balances precariously but steadily on top of his wooden platform (emblazoned in pencil "Dance - ing - Man"). Given a little push, he does a wobbly little dance before toppling over. A fun and colorful folk art figure.

The balancing barbell is attached with nails to the figure's arms, which are adjustable to achieve balance. The point of equilibrium may take a moment to find, but the man has been balancing now for a a couple of weeks here without a wobble.
