Antique CHIP CARVED FRAME with studs 19thC walnut 12 Victorian Folk Art. Fab hand chip carved picture frame garnished with gold coloured studs. Ready mount your cherished great-great family portrait place a small rear mirror or even a clock face / perfect to gift / bed and breakfast / century home décor. Untouched original patina any oiling / cleaning up to the end user.

Raised relief with the corners decorated in a fan motif / down the sides and along the bottom in stars / arched top centred in a quatrefoil design flanked in chip carved curves mimicking the fan corners. 12 gold coloured studs / tacks add even more interest. Innermost chip carving are geometrics triangles. Are careful double scribe lines all along the outer carvings highlighted with curly-Qs. Normal age / usage related fading / loss of scribe lines.

Normal age / usage related edge and corner scuffs / knicks / wear / light scratch, etc. Right hand facing bottom fan has very small piece of fan missing (tried to capture in photo). Rear shows fading where an old photo may have been mounted at some point in time / some tack holes at rear probably, for the old photo.

In pencil at rear, the marking FR2 by a previous owner. Late 1800s to very early 1900s.
