This Is A Vintage Piece Of Iconic Tramp Art With Intricate Carving Which Would Have Taken A Very Long Time To Execute By Hand. The Layers Of Carved Chevrons Are Individually Carved And Then Glued Course By Course To Produce This Unusual Pattern. Not Sure If The Type Of Wood, Generally Tramp Art Was Carved Using.

Discarded Wood From Crates & Cigar Boxes. Time It Was Made, But Tramp Art Dates To The 1940's & Earlier. 32 X 21 X 3 Thick Overall, With An Opening Of 23 ½ X 16 ½. Condition Is Excellent With A Few Minor Areas Where There Is A Bit Of Carving Loss.
