Antique Native American Indian or Folk Art Carved Handmade Wooden Ladle

  
This is quite an amazing item from the 19th/early 20th Century. It measures approximately 19 1/2 overall. The carved handle is approximately 14 1/2. The bowl is probably made from a gourd of some kind. The handle is uniquely designed and whimsical with a wooden carved "lock" hanging from the end.

Where the handle was inserted into the bowl, the maker of the ladle covered the inside area with a decorative carved wood pyramid and sun design. This piece appears to have been attached with a handmade?
