Antique Hand Carved Wooden Basket Weave Folk Art Americana Vessel With Lid 1890s

  

Up for your consideration is a stunning hand carved Folk Art Vessel from the late 1800's to early 1900's. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This beautiful piece has been displayed in my fishing cottage for many years. It measures 5 inches tall by 4 inches wide.

Probably comes from South Carolina. This antique wooden bowl is a unique piece of Americana art. Hand-carved in the 1890s, it features a basket weave design and comes with a lid. The bowl is small, measuring up to 14 inches in diameter, and is signed by the maker, who is lost to time.
