This offering is for an antique circa 1900 Folk Art Carved Figure Group with Original Paint. This wonderful figure grouping measures app. 17" in length by 15" in height to the top of the tree on the left. The depth front to back is app.
The work is made of hand carved and painted wood with the exception of the eagle that sits atop the tree on the right which is made of cast metal. The artwork portrays three musicians playing for the benefit of a bear and an eagle in a wooded setting. The wood appears to be pine and the original paint surface is in excellent condition with a great untouched patina. There are some minor losses to the tips of the vining leaves that run around the base. There is also some chipping to the brims on two of the musicians hats and the bell of the horn on the musician on the left. Considering all of the detail I'm surprised it has survived in such nice condition. There are no other noteworthy breaks and there are no repairs. We have not cleaned the work so it's also a little dusty. If additional photo's are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them. WE USUALLY SEND OUR INVOICE WITHIN 1 HOUR OF THE AUCTIONS ENDING.
