The original wooden frame of the kayak was built in the 1930´s. It has been in the Kilime family and later Nuko, until 2005.The skin around the kayak has been changed a few times over the decades but the frame is still the same, as a proof of earlier generations they were smaller built than present generation. Up until today the kayak has been very well preserved, but as it is a historical item, not a practical one, it needs taking care of as it is expected of museum pieces. Only few items are left of the original East Greenlandic Skin Kayaks in the world.
