This folk art wood carving looks to depict a bass. The carving is nicely detailed, and there is an inlaid eyeball. This item is approximately 19 3/4 inches long. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 13.5 ounces. There is a rusty, old sawtooth metal hanger on the back, so this can be displayed as a wall hanging.

This would be an outstanding addition to a collection of country primitives or folk art. Identification This item is marked on the back side several times, CHARLES W.

Unfortunately, I was not able to locate biographical information about the artist who made this fantastic piece. The exact age is not known, but this item is believed to be antique. It was acquired in northern California, but I do not known where it was made. Condition This piece looks good overall, with minor wear.

There are scattered scratches and small dents. It has some fine splits in the wood. There are some chips to the fins, and there is other minor edge chipping.

There are some tiny splatters of white wall paint on the front, with some larger areas of white paint on the back. The surface is grungy and dusty, and I have not cleaned it. The metal hanger affixed to the back side is rusty.

There are no foul odors. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made. And international government regulations prohibit such behavior.
