This is a stunning, authentic hand-carved wood alebrije by Manuel Jimenez Hernandez, a key figure in the famous Jimenez carving family of Arrazola, Oaxaca. This piece depicts a mythical winged dragon with the classic style that the Jimenez lineage is known for. Hand-Painted Artistry: Features intricate patterns and a bold color palette of bright blues, greens, reds and oranges.

Detailed patterns throughout the body. The colors are still so vibrant. The holes for the two wings have gotten smaller so the wings are lightly glued in. There is a hole inside the mouth possibly for a flamed tongue but this is how I bought it. Dimensions: Measures 6" wide by 6" tall.

Material: Carved from traditional solid Copal wood. This is a true collector's piece for fans of Oaxacan Alebrijes Folk Wood Carving Sculptures. It has been well-preserved and would make a standout addition to any collection of high-end Oaxacan carvings.
