This is a fabulous work of art! This beautiful armadillo is a unique, interesting carving - standing with a ridged back and outstanding tail. It has a wonderful face and arms up. Many colors are used to make this piece a lively beautiful mosaic.

Alebrijes are Mexico's fantastic, imaginative figures - they are often called "creatures of the dreams and the imagination". They are hand-carved and hand-painted of copal wood in Central Mexico where I travel annually to select affordable high quality and imaginative pieces. This extraordinary standing armadillo is approximately 8 3/4" tall and 8 1/2" long.
