A+ Antique Chip Carved Folk Tramp Art Lidded Jewelry Keepsake Trinket Box, c1890

  

A large and exceptional Tramp Art lidded Jewelry or Keepsake Box, 14L, American, c. Chip-carved pine with ruddy-colored stain or varnish. Pyramidal four, five and six layer construction. Locking hinged cover opens to reveal a large rectangular compartment lined with My Queen Vel-Vel (a Victorian era, silk-like velvet) and mirror in gilded wood tooth-edge frame.

This Folk Art Box is guaranteed old and authentic with tremendous character throughout! The photos are probably the best description. Condition : Box exterior with honest high point wear, soiling, etc.

It has not been cleaned. Interior Vel-Vel lining is intact with moderate soiling/fading noted. Mirror and is clean and undamaged. Locking mechanism appears functional; key not present.
