SCULPTURE BY JAMES HAROLD JENNINGS Folk Art Outsider Artist WINDCHIME C. This James Harold Jennings creation is a great outsider piece.
The ANIMAL WINDCHIME sculpture consists of wood created with scraps of wood with his geometric designs. This is good example of Jennings's unique style of using recycled materials and found objects in his art making. He often cut and reassembled scrap wood into his creations- from small sizes to giant Ferris Wheel whirly gigs and included diverse mythological creatures, and moveable carousel assemblages in his art. James Harold Jennings lived near.Eccentric and reclusive as a child, he was home schooled by his mother. He was very close to his mother and after her death in 1974 he began to create endless artwork. From his early experience working in a movie theatre he probably developed his artistic eye but he explained that he got his inspiration by pressing his thumbs on his eyeballs until he saw psychedelic colors. His "Art World" was an explosion of color and movement that became a pilgrimage destination for art fans far and wide He was a shy man and lived most of his years in a rural area without much fame. Now his work is in major museums.
