ANTIQUE LARGE WHIMSIE FOLK ART SAILOR'S CHAIN - 107 INCLUDING HOOK & ANCHOR. IT DOES HAVE SOME DAMAGE AND ONE REPAIR WHICH IS SHOWN IN PHOTOS. The folk art tradition of the chain whimsy goes back into the 1800's, a lot of these were done on downtime for the sailors, military and other professions that had access to wood. The on going carving was a way to pass the time or measure the time a person spent in their "idle" hours.

Take a look at photos and use photos as part of description!!!! I will point out any noticed flaws in description but please check pictures carefully. Items are from estates so may need cleaning, dusting etc. We are a pet friendly home and non-smoking.
