Amazing VINTAGE American Made Primitive Wood Hand Carved FOLK ART FIGURE OF "SNOWMAN". Everything is TOTALLY Hand Carved Wood and then hand painted with Exquisite detail. The exception is the scarf around the Snowman.

This Hand Carving is all over distressed to look aged or antique. Look closely at the photos and enlarge. This Hand Made Primitive Carving of THE SNOWMAN measures 23 Tall. The Square Wood Base measures 3 3/8" by 3 3/8". Notice the sides of the base is depicts snow, icicles, pine trees.

Signed on the base by the artist who did carving exclusively for a store called Crate Prospects. Don't miss this Fabulous Vintage American Folk Art Carving! Crate Prospects was a gift store that was all family owned. It was a very nice shop that occupied an old parts store in a suburb of Minneapolis. The shop was broke up into small rooms.

I think the first room you would come to held linens and doilies and curtains. The next little room was full of European imports like Russian Dolls, etc.

The next room was quite small and the walls were lined with painted red cupboards with glass doors. When you walked into this room your heart started to beat faster and you got warm and perhaps had to wipe your brow every now and then. This room housed the Hand Carved Wood creations from Santa's to hand carved Raccoon's and Carved Birds and Unusual Carvings.

Sometimes the cupboards would be empty and other times there would be maybe 2 to 4 pieces to view. Each Wood Carving would take you breath away - the details, the beautiful painting, the subject matter, each piece was Exquisite!

Every carving was all Hand Made - Every thing that was on the carving was all hand made. Sadly this shop closed many years ago. This item is in the category "Antiques\Primitives".
