Unusual Antique Folk Art Spool Carved Ebonized Wood and Metal Crucifix

  

This unusual folk art crucifix is made of ebonized spool turned wood mounted with a metal crucifix. It is 15 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches wide. There are some light surface scratches and one bone of the skull & crossbones is missing the end. This attic find is a unique representation of the crucifixion of Christ.
