Chainsaw Carved Abominable Snowman Yeti Bigfoot Sasquatch Monster Creature Folk

  

This one of a kind sculpture was carved from a scotch pine log with a chainsaw and other powertools. It is an abominable snowman holding an owl with a cardinal perched on his head. The carving has been sealed with spar urethane and can be kept outdoors, but I recommend keeping it out of the elements.

A covered porch would be ideal if you wanted to keep it outside. UV light is very hard in wood carvings. The cut you see in the back of the carving is intentional. It is known as a relief cut and its purpose is to help control cracking throughout the sculpture.

Cracking is a normal part of the aging process of wood. There are cracks in the carving as you can see in the photos. It's just the nature of wood.
