Antique Carved Oak & Brass Thermometer w Dolphins Folk Tramp Art Black Forest

  
I'm a little stumped on this one, but it is an incredibly cool piece. Part of me thinks it is a folk art piece, part of me thinks it could be a Black Forest piece and something about it also makes me think it could be English, but in actuality I have no idea and can't find anything quite like it. Could very well be any combination of the above. It measures approximately 13.5" tall by 9" wide.

The finish looks to be all original. The glass thermometer is intact and keeps close to the actual temperature.

The brass protector over the ball of the thermometer is slightly out of shape. The wood has a few nicks but no breaks or repairs.
