This product is a vintage, large wooden sculpture of a Lancer. The metal name plate reads LANCERS c. In 1857, the British Army added two regiments of lancers to its cavalry to help suppress the Indian Rebellion. These regiments were the 5th Royal Irish Lancers and the 15th Lancers (Cureton's Multanis). The carving and painting were done in a folk art style, and the piece is by an unknown artist. It was produced in the 1960s or 1970s and is handmade. The sculpture is 36 inches tall, 7 inches wide, and 6 inches deep, and it weighs. The subject includes a lancer - a division of the military and it depicts the colonial and folk art period.
