Up for sale is a truly unique piece of authentic American maritime folk art-a large, 39-inch hand-carved and hand-painted wooden squid wall sculpture. While fish, whales, and anchors are common in coastal decor, vintage squid carvings are incredibly rare and highly sought after by collectors. This striking piece features a vibrant orange body accented with light blue/grey spots and an iconic, oversized deep-sea eye painted in black, blue, and yellow. Authentic Folk Art Construction: The reverse side features flat, heavy horizontal rough-sawn mill marks, indicating it was crafted from a piece of reclaimed vintage lumber or dock wood.

Vintage Patina: It features a heavy-duty, old-school wire loop hanger embedded directly into the back. The topcoat on the paint shows beautiful, subtle age-mellowing.

Dimensions: Measures approximately 39" long by 8" wide, making it a perfect statement piece for a living room, beach cottage, bar, or gallery wall. This piece is in beautiful vintage condition with plenty of rustic character.
