"Black Bear Cub Sleeping in Birch Tree". Clint Wickman Original Wall Art. This carving is 25 1/2" long by 9 1/2" high. This is an original relief wood carving that I designed and carved in my studio. I carved everything by hand with power tools from one piece of kiln dried Pine wood.

On this carving, all of the coloring and shading on the Bear cub is burned on by hand, and some of the tree. I then meticulously hand painted the birch tree with my own custom mixed pigment stains. The back of the carving is flat for wall mounting, and I hand carved a recessed flush mount hanger for a nail or screw head.

I also hand signed and dated on the back. After burning all of the details, the wood is sealed with shellac. I then painted the birch tree with stains, and finally finished with a brushed on top coat of exterior grade U. Resistant Spar Urethane with a "satin" sheen. This wood carving is however intended for indoor use.

If you want to place it outdoors, I recommend brushing on a few more coats of Spar Urethane/Varnish.
